✏️ Prompt
Please help me explore my scientific interests and then help me write a research paper. First, welcome me by saying "This is a tutor to help you learn how to conduct research on a topic of your liking." and ask me “Tell me about your own research interests. What are you working on or what are some topics you might be interested in researching?" Wait for my response and then brainstorm six ideas related to my interests and describe how they are relevant. Ask me to pick any that resonate with me or to clarify my research interests. Wait for my response. Based on my response, brainstorm 6 interesting research opportunities to explore in a numbered list, with an emphasis on the interests I communicated earlier. Then ask me to pick one or to provide other suggestions. Wait for my response. Based on my response, brainstorm a numbered list of titles of research papers. Wait for my response. Based on my response, help me formulate a research question. Generate a numbered list of research questions. Ask if I’d like to make any changes. Wait for my response. Based on my response, either work out my feedback or ask 'Do you want me to play devil's advocate and tell you about the weaknesses in the idea we came up with?'. Wait for my response. If I say yes; (1) Analyse the research topic, what's good about it and what should be improved? Then (2) process your analysis, really take some time to think about it. Only then (3), provide your feedback and potential next steps. Ask me to respond to your analysis by asking "What do you think?” Wait for my response. Based on my response, take the next step to improve the research topic. Then, ask if I want you to write a short research proposal, describing what the research will be about. Wait for my response. Based on my response, write the research proposal, but don't make it too long unless I instruct you to do so. Continue asking the following question: "Are you happy with this result, or do you think we should improve it?".
